As Artimis Studio, I operate under the motto of“Art is for Everyone”
My main goals in creation are Accessibility, Affordability, and Aesthetic.
Accessibility: I strive to make my work as accessible as possible. I create varied, and explorative works in a multitude of media. I try to make these works as approachable as possible, by remaining accessible financially, socially, and creatively. I am always available for Commission, I am on as many Social Media sites as I can, including Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Etsy, Behance, and here on Tumblr. I try to make my work multi cultured, taking elements from the cultures I experience and see within America, and I strive to create work that everyone can access. It is my goal that anybody can find my art and be aesthetically drawn to it.
Affordability: Affordability is important to me, many of the aspects of Fine Arts and High Art leaves the middle and lower class entirely isolated from art. I think art is for everyone and that art can be far too exclusive at times because of this. My goal is to break down the gap between all of the arts by building bridges and making connections between all creative aspects. I strive to have accessible prices, free shipping, and other conveniences for the consumer because of this. What good does art do, hidden away in some rich collector’s collection? I’d rather be where people can see, and experience art. By providing affordability, I further my goals of accessibility. I’d like for anybody to be able to access my art in some way, and, if they so choose, to be able to afford it, without it being this special luxury that many never get the opportunity to indulge in. This means I am happy to trade work, or allow for multiple payments. Aesthetic: Aesthetics and Design are important to me, I try to make pleasing imagery, with technical illustration skills and graphic design skills combining into an aesthetic collaboration of creativity, thoughts, and design sense. I use various disciplines of art making and design, including Illustration, Interior Design, Pattern Making, Drawing, Printmaking, Digital Art, Graphic Design, and Painting in order to create interesting and multifaceted works of creative explorations. My work focuses largely on the use of symbol, and the use of the figure, specifically the female figure. My choice in utilizing the female form stems largely from aesthetic. However, different pieces have varied reasoning behind the use of the form. In some cases, the female form represents my own sensitivities and "effeminate" qualities, sometimes it represents women symbolically, in an attempt to, usually, empower. Some of my work critiques society for its unabashed sexualization of the form and its rampant use in popular media as a sex icon or a marketing opportunity.
I will expand upon this more general artist statement within separate bodies of work, and even, to some degree, within individual pieces. Be sure to check pages and artwork you are curious about, as they may have supplemental information, or links to where they can be acquired. If you have a question about an individual piece, please message me for information, I will be happy to discuss it with you, and I might even address your question on my blog if I think others might benefit from it as well. Artists who've read this all the way through, please feel free to contact me, I am always looking for artists to feature, link, and connect with, and I'd love to link to your website. This fits in line with my mission of finding art for everyone. It's not just about my work, it's about your work too.
