This is a portrait of a good friend of mine, Aleah. She was in the class with me, and we would often end up painting eachother as homework assignments, along with Tucker, seen below. Aleah is painted in a limited palette, specifically, I was only allowed to utilize Burnt Umber and Ultramarine Blue.
This is a part of a series of Portrait Paintings for a class in 2018 where I saw incredible growth as both an artist and a painter. In this particular painting, I spent about an hour and a half painting Aleah from Observation in the classroom, before class started. I utilized Oil paints, but I cannot remember what brand, I think they were a set of Winsor Newtons, along with a few other branded paints. This was early on in the semester, and was painted probably right before my Mid Terms.
