Happy New Years Eve to everybody and a Happy New Year first off!
I'm excited to continue the Free Sticker with any purchase deal, this time, with the code NEWYEAR! Available until the 10th! This is a special code for people who read my blog, I don't put it anywhere else. I have a few resolutions I want to share with you, since this site is both my personal portfolio, and Artimis' Studio's current home. I really want to make a difference, to do that, I need income. My resolution for this year is to put more into this shop and hopefully bring it to a decent level, where I make periodic sales throughout each month! My goals include lowering the costs of shipping and packaging products, and finding better products and quality improvements that can improve the experience. I'm hoping to use the future success of this shop as a means to both help fund my education and donate money towards causes, which I will do at the end of the year, depending on how substantial my sales are. I'd like to do targeted causes, such as a specific print's proceeds going to a specific cause, however, I won't have the volume to be able to do that for a while, but hopefully I'll be able to make a difference in this way as this grows! Thanks for any support you give. If you like what you see or what you hear, please follow, or send my info to friends. Your support is the life and blood of a small business like this and thank you so much for reading stuff on my blog too :)

This is sort of an off-topic post but it's interesting how much Social Media has changed since I last really tried to use it.
First off, starting a new Tumblr was a silly idea, and so far nothing has come out of it. It might be because of the whole porn ban thing that happened recently and my timing is bad, but, whereas Tumblr used to feel more like Instagram, lately it feels like I'm sending a post off into the Abyss. I think I'm pretty decent with tagging, but Tumblr just seems so vast and empty for me. Which is odd cuz I had more success a few years back. The same issue with Twitter, I feel like people don't ever come across my posts, whereas you used to get instant feedback. I've noticed, along with this, all of these social media outlets are pushing this advertising/promotion thing onto us. Like, hey I know we used to let people see your stuff, but then we realized we can hide it from people and charge you to show it to them. It kind of defeats the purpose of "Social" Media if nobody sees anything without you bypassing a paywall... That being said, Instagram and my personal Facebook seem to be going well, and my Etsy gets a good amount of views for being 3 days old. I'll keep at it, but has anybody else noticed how much more difficult it seems to be to start something and get any notice? Occassionally I'll post off-topic stuff, hopefully it's sorta interesting, I know this one isn't! Super stoked to say that my first sale happened within 48 hours of releasing my Etsy shop! That's all~
Appreciate the support! With the opening of Etsy, I've managed to start off with four sections of art...
Art Stickers, one of my cheapest options, which will allow people, more specifically a younger demographic to have accessibility to the art that I make. Unfortunately, my goal is to sell them at about 2.50, but due to listing, shipping, and printing costs, they ended up being closer to 5 dollars! That being said, they're still the cheapest item in my shop and I've succeeded at making some art available for only a handfull of dollar bills. Stickers are available here on Etsy. Unlimited Digital Prints, which, due to volume, allow me to charge lower than other prints. I'm not sure if I'm at the right pricing point for these, but so far, so good. These unlimited prints will allow me to build a continual catalog of interesting thematic artwork, which will act as the base of my shop. This makes my art a bit more approachable as well, since it does away with exclusivity and other things like that. I hope that this section makes my shop more accessible to people, and more affordable. I'm still working on pricing. You can find them at this Link. Currently there are only 2 designs, but each year I will choose a theme and continually create work in it. I will retire any listing that doesn't sell well, but I will always add more. This year, the themes are Nautical and Floral! Limited Digital Prints are more my element, being a printmaker, I'm used to only having a set amount of a work before I cannot make anymore. This feels more like my usual artmaking process, so I created more elaborate prints to have at this level. These are currently only slightly more expensive than the Unlimited Prints, but while Unlimited Prints and Stickers, the goal is to go down, these prints may end up going up, depending on demand. It's my goal to never raise the Sticker and Unlimited Prints tiers unless I absolutely have to. You can find this section on Etsy here. Printmaking Prints are the final tier I have currently, and will be my most expensive option for a while, until I begin adding in Original Drawings and Paintings. These works will be much more limited. You can find this section here. Currently, I have a few goals I'd like to accomplish for Artimis Studio. I'd like to expand my merchandise to other aspects of design and art-making that are more accessibile! The biggest of these goals is to expand into T-Shirts. I hope to begin this process sometime this year, but it will depend entirely on the shop's initial reception. The smaller goals are to find an affordable way to print Bookmarks, Vinyl Stickers, and Post Cards. These will allow me to further increase my more affordable tiers! Eventually, I'll add in Screenprinting, special Commission work, and Original Works as well, but I'm a bit more concerned with making my shop accessible. My goal as an artist is to make sure that many different people can come to my shop and find something they like, and they can afford. My slogan is Art is for Everyone. The Etsy Shop has opened!
You can find it here! Check it out, send some love and views! The shop contains listing for Printmaking Pieces, Stickers, Limited Prints, and Unlimited Series Prints as well! Remember, if you message me MERRY, you will get a free sticker with any purchase until January 1st! |
