Edit: Added in hyperlinking to individual pages for each of the pieces, these individual pages will be added for all work on the site over the next week or two, enjoy!
Hey guys, I'm also part of another show coming up in Charlotte, NC in the Novant Health center being built near Park Road. These are a few pieces that are part of a much older abstraction series made in 2016 as part of one of my Studio classes. They deal largely with experimentation, environment, and the use of repeated forms. It also deals with the use of unique materials, such as saran wrap and liquid starch, as printing mediums. From left to right, they are titled Eclipse, Night Structure, and Coffee & Cola. You can check them out in Charlotte for a limited time. Eclipse and Coffee & Cola are also now in thicker, sturdier frames similar to the one that Night Structure is in. This was due to the fact that they needed to be wired, and would be hung for a longer period of time than other shows. One thing in particular I miss from this series, and hope to find appropriate work to bring it back into my process is the use of white frames with black mats, I really like the aesthetic. I've got a couple more shows and markets coming up, so my posts for a while will largely be focused on keeping people update on these shows and getting back into the groove of posting regularly.

You can check out a number of my pieces in a show in Kinston right now. It will be up until March 28th. I have 2 pieces that were juried into the show successfully, and 1 piece that is still on view in the bottom galleries. This was a super cool exhibition, and there's so many pieces that were dropped off and showcased in this beautiful old building. If you get the chance, absolutely go check it out. I chose to drive down and support them after seeing that they still showcased pieces that were not juried in, I felt that this fit in with my personal desire to provide exhibition opportunities for children and student artists. You can check out the link here
The first one is titled Oh, Wonder, a Lithograph. The other two which are on display are titled C No EvL, a 3 color screen print, and Jackelopes, a linocut. Each of them are currently available for $75, and I have multiples within an edition. Hey guys, I'll be posting about shows I'm in to start with, which will make this week the busiest!
From now until March 28th, you can find my work, along with many other artist's work at Center for Visual Artists in Greensboro, NC, the show is titled Self Recognition Through the Other. You can find out more information here. Here is a quote taken from CVA's website: An exhibition focused on your relationship with self-awareness. Artists should reflect on the themes of understanding feelings, shared experiences, and navigating how we heal individually and collectively. You can find my work, "Ursa Major" in the show, be sure to check it out! Ursa Major is a reflection of inner strength, and finding that inner strength within other people. It's loosely based on ancestral ghosts, spirituality, and the concept of afterlife. Ursa Major is the Mother Bear. Here's an image of the piece, for you guys to check out! I didn't post this yet, so I submitted two pieces to a Greensboro Show titled Unbound, a literary arts oriented show! One of which got in!
The pieces I submitted were titled "Under the Roots" and "Angel Oak", and they are now on the site! Unfortunately I did not get "Angel Oak" into the show, I did however, get "Under the Roots" into this show! This is the most expensive piece I've ever showcased, coming in at about $700, due in part to time and process! I don't really expect it to sell, but I'm ecstatic to be able to showcase it again! It was previously showcased in the Airy Knoll Farm Show! Angel Oak is another one of my more costly originals, coming in at about $500, it didn't make the cut, but I'll be adding it into the site for archiving purposes! You can check out Unbound starting April 5th until May 31st in downtown Greensboro at the Center for Visual Artists! Go out and check out all of these literary and word focused artists and their beautiful works! I've delivered pieces for Legion Brewing and I'm happy to announce you can now see the event on Facebook. The event will start March 13th, Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30! It'll close sometime in April!
The pieces below will be in the show! They are also for sale! The one on the left is titled Brake Lights and the one on the right is titled Porch Light! Definitely come out and check it out if you're in the Charlotte Area! |
